Lucy Rimalower joined AJU as an adjunct faculty member in 2011, teaching Educational Psychology.  She is a writer and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Los Angeles. Her specialties include working with families with same-sex parents as well as teens. Rimalower completed her M.A. in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, at Phillips Graduate Institute. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Dramatic Art at UC Berkeley. Prior to becoming a therapist, Rimalower worked in feature development. She has also reviewed television programs for healthy portrayals of adolescent sexuality, as part of Advocates for Youth's SHINE Awards, honoring sexual health in entertainment. She has a weekly column in Los Angeles Family Magazine and also serves as a speaker through the Los Angeles area. Her article "The Mamas and the Papas: The Invisible Diversity of Families with Same-sex Parents," originally published in Sex Education, is used as part of the LGBT-affirmative therapy curriculum offered by the California division of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
