Dear 3rd Session Families,
3rd Session at Camp Alonim is off to a fantastic start! We kicked off the session with Opening Campfire on Tuesday night, engaging in various Alonim traditions, and having each age division in camp introduce themselves with a song written to a popular tune. Highlights included the Tzofim (6th graders) doing their song to a montage of Grease tunes, complete with costumes, and the Seniors (9th graders) introduced themselves to the tune of Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” complete with accompanying violin.
Campers are enjoying their first days of camp in their chuggim (activities) and omanut (art electives). We are paying special attention today to bunk clean-up procedures to lay the foundation for a healthy session!
Thank you all for your patience during check-in with the health screenings and Tamiflu intake procedures. We know that taking these steps on opening day will provide the best opportunity to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all members of the Alonim family. We will continue to keep you posted throughout this session as health issues arise and our Health Center staff works through them.
We hope you enjoyed having check-in on the Old Sports Field as we work to respond to feedback and improve our systems on a yearly basis.
We are excited to have your campers with us for the next three weeks and look forward to staying in touch throughout that time!
Be sure to check the Camp Alonim website at www.alonim.com for updates throughout the summer and to see pictures.
B’Shalom,
Jordanna Flores
